Novice Skills Course
Perfect for complete beginners or returning riders. This course is designed to take even the most inexperienced rider and teach them how to safely and confidently operate a motorcycle. Each course includes the ICBC Motorcycle Skills Test (MST).

Traffic Skills Course
Designed to help riders expand their overall riding and traffic awareness skills, while at the same time preparing them to be successful on their upcoming ICBC Road Test. Students will spend two full days of riding in traffic.

Rider Refresher Training (RRT)
Our CRD Traffic Safety Commission sponsored RRT course is designed for current licenced class 6 riders who have some riding experience, may or may not not have formal rider training, or who may be returning to riding after some time away. Review and refine fundamental basic control techniques while strengthening rider confidence and road sense.

Experienced Rider Course (ERC)
Our ERC is designed to further challenge and develop your riding skills. This includes improving your emergency response performance along with police-based motorcycle training designed by serving or retired police motorcycle officers working at VISC.

Extra Training Sessions
Personalized training sessions available to all Novice and Traffic Skills Course students who are required to, or would like to receive additional training in between course sessions. We are here to help every student achieve riding success!

Motorcycle Maintenance
Students will spend an evening with VISC’s head mechanic and will get to know the basics for maintaining your motorcycle. You'll also save money on garage repairs and you might prevent that "stranded" feeling on the side of the road.
Training Risks & Liabilities
The Vancouver Island Safety Council takes every precaution to minimize the risk of accidents occurring during training and we have an excellent safety record to prove this. However, a certain element of risk is always present in learning to operate a motorcycle. VISC accepts the risk of damage to our training equipment and students will not be required to bear the cost of any accidental damage to our equipment.
The Vancouver Island Safety Council cannot accept responsibility for any bodily injury or damage to student's property while they are participating in our courses. All students and the parents/guardians of minors, will be required to sign an online release of liability for such bodily injury or property damage before commencing training with VISC.
