Class 6 Road Test - Basic Overview

The Class 6 road test is your final test before you get your Class 6 (full privilege) motorcycle driver's licence. In order to take the Class 6 Road Test, you must:

  • Have successfully completed your MST/MSA

  • Have had your Class 6L motorcycle learners licence a minimum 30 days (road test date appears on your learners licence)

A motorcycle road test lasts for about 45 minutes and consists of riding through a variety of different traffic environments, like city streets, commercial areas, highways, and intersections with stop signs and traffic lights. The ICBC examiner rides behind you in a car and communicates with you by two-way radio.

If you are in the Graduated Licensing Program (GLP) and currently hold a Class 8L and want to receive your full, unrestricted Class 6 motorcycle licence, you must also:

  • Have successfully completed your MSA

  • Have passed your Class 8 Road Test

  • Have had your Class 8N motorcycle licence for a minimum of 24 months
